Project tasks
Developing responsible cross-border history-based tourism by creating new tourist products and services based on our common history and common heritage attracting and developing SME sector in tourism and other related industries.
The main character of the project

The project consists of two parts. The first one includes the research work on the project topic in archives and libraries in Finland and Russia, the development of tourist products and services and a virtual museum creation.
The second part supposes construction and repair works. The renovation of the historic building of the first military school is underway in Finland. It is planned to build a new entrance to the building, as well as reconstruct Sprengtporten’s room. On the Russian side, it is planned to create three historical workshops and a historical exhibition.
This project offers the participation of young people who will gain knowledge of history and acquire the skills of information retrieval and its application. They will also learn about entrepreneurship in the field of tourism and will participate in the development of tourist products and services.
